Subjects Taught
Fourth Grade

Being a late bloomer, I went back to college in the mid-nineties and obtained my Bachelors of Science Degree in Education and immediately thereafter, continued on to get  my Master's Degree in Education.   Both degrees were received from Worcester State College in Worcester, Massachusetts.  I taught in Massachusetts for seven years, gaining great experience with regular education, special education, including some work with autistic children.  I moved to North Carolina in 2001, and Morton Elementary has been my "home" away from home since that time.

In addition, I have an Associates Degree in Theatre Arts from Berkshire Community College.  I have a great love for the Theatre and love to bring it to the class room whenever the opportunity arises!

My involvement in my own daughter's education was the impetus for my returning to school to complete a degree in teaching.  I was a Teaching Assistant at Northwoods Elementary in Jacksonville back in the 1980's.  I loved the interaction with the children and the closeness it afforded me to know the ins and outs of my own daughter's growth as a learner.  My daughter's education was a focal point in our lives, so I was no stranger to the class room.

I was an avid hiker in Massachusetts, having hiked portions of the Appalachian Trail during the summer and doing many tent camping trips throughout New England.  My treks here are on the beach, shelling, swimming and exercising with my dachshund, Henry.  My daughter is grown now and continues to live in Massachusetts.  I enjoy entertaining family and friends in my home in Emerald Isle.
